OK, apparently it is going around…

An Indianapolis woman has been charged with neglect for leaving her 4-year-old child unattended in a car near Greenwood Park Mall.  The incident occurred on Nov. 23 as shoppers converged on shopping malls for after-Thanksgiving sales.  (The) child was left unattended for over an hour in (the) car.

Seriously, was that “bargin” really worth a possible 6 months to 3 years in prison?  People, please use some common sense here and think about the safety of your children.  These people are just killing me.

A 63-year-old Pennsylvania woman has given a new meaning to “packing for Disney World”.

Disney World security personnel reportedly discovered a … .32-caliber Beretta handgun had been loaded with seven live rounds in the magazine, but the chamber was empty.   Also found in (her) purse was a pair of scissors and a locked blade knife.

Maybe she was paranoid that the characters were out to get her or that the “magic” of Disney was going to add her to the previous three Disney World deaths over the past week and a half.

All I can say is that I’m glad that she wasn’t there when I was a few months ago.  And I’m glad that there’s obviously no “profiling” going on at Disney World.

I swear, some people just don’t deserve to have children.  When I read this story this morning it just angered me at the lack of common sense.  Never mind the fact that is was bitterly cold last night and you left a two-year-old in a cold minivan for 40 minutes.  What about the possibility of someone kidnapping your child?

And their excuse?  “Their child was sound asleep and they didn’t want to wake him before going into the store.”  Having three little ones myself my thought process would be to either wake the child up OR if you want to let him sleep, one of you can stay in the van while it’s running and the other can take your four-year-old into the store to go shopping with you.  Leaving them unattended in a cold van would never have even crossed my mind as an option.

A gunman killed eight people and wounded five others Wednesday at the popular Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska, before apparently turning the gun on himself, police said.

Wouldn’t it be nice to go a day without pondering what is wrong with some people?  This is just horrible.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims friends & families and I can’t imagine how hard this Christmas season will be for them.

Earlier this morning a friend of mine was on CNBC for a few seconds talking about a problem he (and apparently about 30% of owners) has had with his X-Box X-Sux 360.  (Yet another reason I don’t plan on buying one…what kind of “quality assessment” thinks 70% is acceptable?)

Anyway, to my point…

I think CNBC should be considered “Short Attention Span Theater”…I’m about to puke from information overload after watching all of those tickers go by AND the additional news alerts.  No wonder people “need” 65″+ televisions, as this is way too much to take on my “little” OR “big” TV.   And no wonder so many people are diagnosed* as having ADD or AD/HD.

Man am I glad that the kid programs grace my television during the day when it happens to be on.  And luckily the radio hasn’t gone to multi-tasking (yet).

* I’ll leave that rant for another time.
