NFL Blown Call of the Week

Oakland Raiders Touchdown

Game two of the NFL Monday Night Football double header: Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers. Oakland scores a touchdown. Then there’s a challenge that it’s a touchdown.

On TV they clearly show that there is control of the ball with two feet in the end zone and that the ball popped out after he hit the ground (and the ground cannot cause a fumble even if that was a possibility).  This is a no-brainer. But apparently whatever angle the NFL had didn’t show that.  And never mind the fact that in recent years the NFL has put the cameras tightly under their control. You’d think they’d have more than one angle from the back of the end zone.

So Oakland ends up kicking a field goal and losing the game by 4 points instead of going to overtime. Nice one NFL & Roger Goodell! Keep up the crooked work! I hear the NBA might have some openings.

That was total bs. There was no way they could have called that. The bigger bs is that the refs had the under 2 minute rule on their side so their call couldn’t be overturned. 90% of the time the booth listens to the announcers who kept saying “Why are they still showing this replay? He obviously has possession.” We kept yelling, “One foot, two feet, as*, roll over, ball comes out, where’s the question??” Oakland has long gotten shafted by the refs, there really needs to be some kind of reprimand issued when the call is so blatantly wrong especially when they review it over and over. (And ps, there’s no way the officials don’t see what the entire nation sees, there must be at least 10 cams in each end zone…)
Raiders getting screwed again…in our house even! Augh!
