Vinyl Lives: September 30, 2008 Purchases
I headed to Goodwill this morning to pick up some “new” vinyl records. Here’s what I came home with on this trip:
- Johnny Cash – Happiness Is You (Columbia CS 9337), 1966
- Perry Como – The Perry Como Christmas Album (RCA LSP-4016), 1968
- Kimbo Records Presents Early Childhood – Series 5 Christmas Fantasy (KLP-7005), 1970?
- Kimbo Records Presents Early Childhood – Series 8 Friends of the Sea (KLP-7008), 1970?
- The Royal Choral Society – Yuletide Hymns and Carols (RCA LCB-1044), year unknown
- Lil Scrappy – Gangsta Gangsta (BME Recordings/Reprise Records PRO-A-101788), 2006 [This is for Jeff's enjoyment.]
As a fun sidenote, 9 times out of 10 you can find either a Christmas record or a Kenny Rogers record…and sometimes Kenny’s Christmas album. If your local thrift shop only has one or two albums in stock, it’s a good chance that it’s one of these. (And occasionally John Denver.)
