Break News: After the defeat of Hillary Clinton for the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination, Barack Obama has announced his campaign theme song, an updated version of P.F. Sloan‘s Eve Of Destruction.  (Look for the lyrics floating around the Internet.)

Upon the announcement, Obama stated, “And you tell me over and over and over again, my friend, that you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.  Today I am acknowledging that we, the great United States of America, are indeed on the eve of destruction.  Our young men and women are overseas fighting an endless war while our economy Stateside is in recession.  As president of the United States of America I will do everything in my power to bring us back from the brink of destruction to once again stand again on solid ground and once again make us the prosperous and secure Nation we were meant to be.”
